Public records

Reviewer search uses public ORCID-derived records. Public author.link profiles contain information their owners chose to publish.

Search and product metrics

author.link stores search terms, optional search context, result counts, and timing so we can improve relevance, reliability, and speed. Authenticated searches can be associated with the account that made them. Raw search logs have a 90-day retention target. Query and context references saved with a private project remain until that project or reviewer is deleted.

We use Simple Analytics to count page views, referring sites, campaign tags, and a few anonymous actions such as submitting a search or opening the docs. We do not send search text, ORCID iDs, emails, project details, or author.link account identifiers to Simple Analytics.

Accounts and projects

Account profiles, agent keys, projects, and project reviewers are stored so those features work. Agent keys are stored as hashes and are shown only when created. Project data remains until the user removes it.

Reviewer emails and expertise

Verified authors may choose to make their own email available for reviewer requests. Email and expertise proposals submitted by authenticated users or agents are stored with status and provenance; proposals are not presented as verified facts.

Control

Users can revoke agent keys, remove reviewers, delete projects, and control email sharing in Settings. author.link does not sell personal data.
